On October 30 and 31 we were in Düsseldorf, taking part in Successful R&I in Europe: 6th European Networking Event, where we gave a presentation on “Advanced methods and processes for the preservation of underwater heritage”

On October 23 the Exhibit Conservation Department of the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk held the second seminar on the conservation of metal and combined objects. We had an opportunity to attend a number of interesting presentations and engage in follow-up discussions.

On October 16 we visited the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. We were shown around the Museum's conservation workshops and shared our experience concerning the applications of nanocalcium in heritage conservation. Our Greek colleagues are currently working on securing ancient sculptures recovered from the sea by the coast of the island of Antikythera, an exceptionally demanding task. Good luck!

The Laboratory building is nearly completed. The construction work is expected to be finished this autumn. The next stage is equipping the Lab with analytical apparatus and surface cleaning lasers and putting it into operation. (more…)
